The Story of the Lotus Tower

ABOUT US

The Colombo Lotus Tower ? South Asia?s tallest self-supported structure and Sri Lanka?s tallest skyscraper ? was established in 2012. Over the past ten years since its inception up to now, the city of Colombo has watched as the tower transformed the landscape of the city. The Lotus Tower grew from a mere stem to a monumental structure that resembles the country?s rapid development in technology and tourism. Colombo Lotus Tower Management Company (Pvt) Ltd was established in March 2022 under the Treasury, and all its transactions are audited by the Auditor General?s Department. Accordingly the tower was opened to public on 15th September 2022 with an overwhelming excitement from the public.

Tower Base

    The constituents of the Tower Base is five floors, the Basement, Ground Floor, 1st Floor, 2nd Floor and the Lotus One Five.

  • Basement Area (Kitchen (1,330.00m) 2) - HVILV distribution room, diesel generator room, kitchen space, refrigeration plant room, domestic water pool and pump room.
  • Ground Floor (Area 4,8842m2)- The ground floor consists of Public food court, Ice cream lab, Core Area Digital Art Museum, Information desk and Souvenir shop". In Addition to the above, it also consists of the entrance hall, the ancillary buildings, VIP lounges and commercial buildings.
  • 1st Floor- (Area 4,142m2)- The first floor in the Tower comprises of an Innovation Centre, Office Spaces and Technology Trial Zones, forasmuch as it also falls in with the entrance to get to the one and only Revolving Restaurant in Sri Lanka. (To get more information on the Revolving Restaurant, refer the 27th floor in the Tower House)
  • 2nd Floor - (Area 4,831m2)- The second Floor consists of the Gaming Arena and the Meeting Centre.
  • Lotus One Five - (Area of 687m2): The Lotus One Five, on the other hand is purely allotted for Leisure and Entertainment, reside in is the state-of-the-art childrens play area, leisure area with pub and bar along with a 5.1 surround sound system open air theatre.

tower House

    Tower House, on the contrary is the part designed to resemble a blooming lotus flower. The Tower House comprises of 8 floors, the living quarters of the inhabitants that includes 23rd and the 24th floors for communal activities, 25th and the 26th floors as Hospitality Spaces, the Revolving Restaurant, 6 Super Deluxe Rooms and the Observation Deck.

  • 23rd Floor- Radio transmitter plant and control rooms (926m2)
  • 24th Floor- TV transmitter plant and control rooms (713m2)
  • 25th Floor - Hospitality Space 400 Pax (1,063m2)
  • 26th Floor - "Cosmic" the Hospitality Space 400 Pax (1,087m2)
  • 27th Floor: 225 seat "Blue Orbit" the Revolving Restaurant (1,088m2))
  • 28th Floor: 06 No's VIP Luxury Suites (986m2))
  • 29th Floor: Observation Deck which allows an 360^0 scenic and a panoramic view (560m2)
  • 30th Floor: AC outdoor plant room and elevator plant room (455m2)
